The more I think about it, the more I'm sure that Kandi and Phaedra won't resolve their friendship, no matter what. Kim and Nene's falling out was one of the first major plotlines of RHOA, and the friendship between housewives always plays a big deal in every iteration of the show.

By intentionally not making amends, they can both have an extra storyline to keep themselves interesting for the viewers.

In all honesty ratings aren't bad considering last years season average went down 0.6 million. This wasn't really because of Nene

What does one say after that though? Be honest haha. I wouldn't have a thing to say after. I wouldn't have let Phaedra get an opportunity to talk to me that way. But that ended up being a self-read because Phaedra's "picture perfect life" changed completely.

I would've come after her about her sperm donor/husband being a convicted felon. then i probably would've shamed her for daring to talk about single women trying to have children like that.

they were 3.7 mill last year because of the Apollo thing.

3 mill is pretty much within the range of all the other season premieres

of course not. The premiere of season 7 was after the epic reunion with kenya getting her natural hair tugged.

I'm glad it got 3M which is what i expected. there's no way it would remain that high when this wasn't the episode of actual fighting with cynthia and porsha.

3rd highest out of all 8 seasons and it was higher than reunion 2 and 3 (which was all about nene and her breakdown and that episode lost viewers)...


I think if they can keep 2.5-3.3M (with the dramatic episodes) it'll be in line with the usual decline.

If Nene's "breakdown" brought in less viewers what would make anyone think she'd be responsible when the stats prove Kenya has almost double the ratings.

That said, Kenya was noticeably absent from the promo (Kim, cynthia and Kandi were mainly focused) I'm surprised they didn't push the sheree and kenya scene more.

the apollo thing but also after the epic reunion with porsha and kenya Kenya contributed as she was still a peach holder that season but you are right Apollo and the arrest and then the apology to kenya were big talking points.

I'm interested to see the numbers cynthia and porsha bring in for the "fight" Probably 3.3M

Kenya stans in here are making me laugh. I'll wait to be proven wrong but so far all i see is someone being messy for the hell of it. She knows she was boring last season. She probably has no storyline this season either. She'd been plotting that tiff with Sheree minutes into the episode. Sheree. Sheree will bulldoze her follicles harder than Phaedra did. As usual will she'll be pleading for a truce towards the end of the season.

Girl you keep recycling that stale tea without any context. Viewers fell for the reunion last year because NOTHING happened the whole season that was worth reliving. When you think about last season, there were no big fights, no big storylines, just a bunch of girls taping random scenes with other girls talking about other girls. Viewer disinterest was the cause for the low ratings.

If you've done a bit of homework and used the good sis Wikipedia, you'd realize that reunions are some of the highest rated episodes of the season most seasons, this season they were among the lowest rated episodes, the viewers were simply disinterested in the girls and their ventures that season. And if you compare the premiere number this season to other seasons, the viewership number for a premiere hasn't been this low since S4.

It doesn't matter if they pushed Kenya to the high heavens or not to promo this episode, the viewers have clearly spoken at this point

I think this is her last time she can get away with it.
There's a clip in the trailer about her father and addressing those issues.
She's dating
Her haircare line
Her house and I guess they are using this chateua sheree vs. moore manor thing
and her usual messiness for moments.
After this, she has to find a man, get that baby (i doubt she can have one herself) and have more substance in her storyline.

Wait I wasn't disputing that reunions were the highest what are you even talking about.
As a matter of fact, I mentioned that the first episode was higher than last season's reunion part 2 and 3. Part 3 was the one where they tried to sell Nene and her crocodile tears and the viewers and ratings went down for that one.

Please check out Tvbythenumber's recent articles citing walking dead decline but RHOA numbers were solid for a season premiere.

The viewers saw the arrival of Kim fields and some stuff with kandi and porsha/cynthia. I'm surprised they didn't capitalize on this fight since it's the biggest talking point of the entire episode.

Please don't get hyper or sassy. The viewers had issues with prior seasons and your fave is a contributor to those problems if not one of the top...

I think the season started out well and will end well and so far the production seemed to be pleased with the season and even Nene asked to come back and humbled herself with behind the scenes production from what I hear...she knows that RHOA will keep her landing jobs and not these short lived gigs.
Broadway is a great achievement. Isn't high paying, though.
Neither is a show shot in 6 days that never made it to air or a two time stint on fashion police.

I'll pretend is if the tea I saw wasn't reliable and just put a conjecture out there that Nene and the girls will actually get along and settle things like grown women at the end of the season on to the season 9.

P.S. the people were wondering why Sheree didn't hold a peach way more than any one else's return.

I do hope sheree gets her peach mid season since the tammy situation is kaputs and porsha's friend was never a factor.

Anywho, back to relevancy, I absolutely LOVE that the whole episode basically focused around Cynthia, how far she's come, a woman grown into her own voice, taking over ATL no matter what comes her way
