Saying that BTW is reductive 10 months after it was released is not honesty hunny, it was a strategy. Performing the song every show was also not honesty. It was mocking someone else's work. For sounding SLIGHTLY similar.
If you love honest Madonna so much, I am very insterested in hearing your opinion of Madonna writing 2 steps behind me and then when she got backlash, trying to act as if it was NOT about Gaga etc. ? What do you think about this non hypocritical move ?
To me it sounds like you are blindly hating Gaga.
Anyway this thread is not the place for this so it'd be cute if you and wonderlust just leave the thread if you are still unhappy

To be honest, that didn't even bother me too much. Sure it was surprising, but Madonna was capitalizing on the publicity Gaga's name was getting her, and fueling the stan war (so your point is entirely moot about "crazy Gaga stans" when Madonna was literally playing into the hands of her own who run blogs and dedicate their lives to anti-Gaga rhetoric).
What was so  for me was the stuff she said in between performing that mash-up on her tour. This was cringe-tastic. The video where she literally fuels the fan war is even more cringey. I could never stan for a person whose entire show seems to be based around talking about and taking jibes at a newer artist.

why are you attacking bristles and myself for having an opinion about gaga?
we have moved on. I'm not glad of fighting with monsters. i don't hate gaga. i can't hate a singer. but what I've seen from her is just not something I can be a fan of, something I can respect. its not about blindly hating someone, mariano. its about judging what we have seen so far from gaga, and it hasn't been nice. you may not like madonna, but , like bristles said, she's honest. you know what she thinks cuz she says it. thats why we know that when she takes a photo and says a message about gaga on instagram, she's honest. you can believe that madonna ' s okay with gaga. but can we say that about gaga? i don't know.

You can go on about Gaga her friends as much as you want, we won't be convincing you anyway. If there's any truth to your claim you are who your friends are.
What if Gaga and Madonna establish a friendship of some kind and will be spotted together a few times here and there. You'll still see Gaga as the wicked witch from the east scheming?
I mean does that mean Madonna is also like that or in your mind we should probably fall down to our knees and thank Madonna for...not sure what exactly.

You girls are doing the MOST. This old ****ing mess of a feud! Mess. Let's all just reflect on the facts - Gaga pissed Madonna off by releasing "Born This Way" which DOES sound like "Express Myself". I denied it too until one day at the gym I heard music and I was like "omg Born This Way! Yaass" and then I listened closely and "don't go for second best baby, put your loving to the test..." and I was SHOCKED I got them confused - but it pretty much answered everything I'd tried to deny.
I mean I VERY much doubt Gaga sought out to make it and as much as the M stans would love to believe I doubt "Express Yourself" ever crossed her mind, though the fact it had the same message pretty much is odd - but Gaga already had a gazillion comparisons to M made so she wouldn't have thought she'd get away with it. Maybe she wanted that controversy? it certainly got the buzz out on that song. Anyway, more of the facts:
Madonna then got overly on the offense about it all, I mean the "reductive" comment was honesty and if I was her I would have said it too. I think people took it as a "SHE HATES GAGA!" when really she just didn't like that "BTW" sounded like "Express Yourself".
However it got embarrassing once M took it on the MDNA Tour and sang it with "Express Yourself" and "She's Not Me". Like it was funny the first couple of times but once she was touring with it like 6 months down the road it started looking reeaaaally stupid - and having every single interview she ever did plagued by Gaga questions and vice-versa didn't help.
Gaga had to keep the peace but I'm sure she was like "WTF is Madonna's problem? She's a legend - so why is she so bothered?" and it's miraculously she never just blurted out in an interview "IDK what the pressed bitch's problem is!" Anyway, ARTPOP was a very clear deviation from the Madonna comparison era and anyone still going on about it two Gaga eras later is clinically obsessed.

The only thing embarrassing here is how you totally missed the point hun. It doesnt matter how many people heard about it (Im no twink and I did), it just shows something about their character.
While Madonna (as a straightforward bitch that she is) openly called her out for BTW, even on stage, Gaga kept whining and denying the similarities, calling the comparisons retarded (after claiming how Madonna gave her her blessing by email!?! - like what for would she say that if she wasnt aware?) and then go on about how M hates her. I dont like such attitude at all.
As I stated back then during the MDNA era and now, I find the EY/BTW mash up low from M, but I cant blame her for trying to milk the controversy, or for being pissed off, she had a reason and I think there was more to it than just BTW (Judas, Alejandro etc.).
Its Gagas attitude and music why I dont like her, not this feud. How she doesnt step up for herself and rather victimizes herself while putting the blame on others etc. I just wanted to explain this in my post, not that I think it matters to anyone but me.
