I always find it funny when people speculate about Nene not being needed/Bravo firing her when she is literally the face of the franchise like you said. There is a reason why this lady is the only remaining original Housewife of the ATL franchise. No matter how delusional or "above" it all NeighNeigh acts, she's still the face of the show.
Nene is to RHOA what Vicki is to RHOOC, Lisa is to RHOBH, and Teresa is to RHONJ

All of those franchises could continue without all those girls though bar RHONJ, as Teresa is truly the only storyline.
RHONYC still had good ratings without Bethenny until andy fired more than half the cast.

OMGGG @ Apollo forcing me to HATE Kenya all this time for nada. I mean yes she's insufferable, dry & untouched but none of that is her own fault.

Double talking? Gurrr calm yourself. Kandi expressed the same views she's always had regardless of who's around.
1. She told Kenya that calling the po po was a bitchass move, and it was.
2. She told Apollo he was disrespectful to his marriage w/Phaedra, and he was.

Of course they can continue on but that isn't the point.
A majority of the memorable/iconic moments in RHOA had Nene in it and she still knows how to bring that drama. Like think about it; who was Kandi feuding with when she came on? Who was Phaedra feuding with when she came on? How about Kenya (and now Claudia)? Nene is not like some of those original housewives that get boring real quick, she is still apart of a majority of the beefs and storylines. Bravo realizes that, that's why she's the highest paid on that franchise.

Or course as a real housewife She would feel pressure to do that, but it just makes her look like a snitch, which Nene and Cynthia called her out on during the season 4 reunion.

My point is that Nene clearly isn't necessary for the show to have good ratings seeing how the premiere was up nearly a million from last year and she was barely a part of it.
And off topic as much as I like her Vicki isn't even the star of RHOC. She even got her next to Andy spot at the reunion snatched by OC's new queen.

I didn't even mention ratings, you did.  And going by your logic, Phaedra & Apollo are the reason for the high ratings since a majority of the premiere episode centered around them. And P.S., your girl, Kenya, barely got 5 minutes in, so going by your logic, she isn't essential to the show's ratings success at all. Good to know!
Back to what I WAS ACTUALLY SAYING, the ladies that I mentioned in my original post are the FACES of their respective franchises, which they are. Regardless of what you say, Nene is the face of the RHOA franchise and the most notable figure on the show (besides, of course, Kandi who is obviously a bigger of a celebrity figure due to her music).
Regardless of it all, Nene still brings in the drama & is a huge part of the dymanics on the show. Her and Kenya are still feuding. Cynthia and Claudia are going to be going head-to-head with her AND Phaedra and her are going to become even better "friends."

But aren't ratings what all these shows want, and if they're paying a huge check for someone who isnt really necessary to do that anymore, isn't that a mistake?
And we'll see large ratings from Kenya's vindication tonight just like we saw for phaedra and apollo's mess.
And just because you're the OG does not mean you're the face of the franchise. Tamra and Gretchen were more the face of RHOC than Vicki was.

You say this, but Nene's stint at Cirque Du Soleil was the first celebrity to star in Zumanity and when I bought my tickets to see the show in March (for a late June show), the majority of seats were already sold out and they bumped ticket prices up $20 to $30 a seat from normal to accommodate the demand. I had to pay $140 a ticket and I couldn't even get the sofa seats because that was already completely sold out.
Point is, everyone cares about what she does and her Vegas stint.

Nene's Vegas segments are extremely boring and random TBH. She was better in ATL. If she stays in Vegas too long she will become a non factor this season.

Yes, they care about the ratings; that's why Bravo pays Nene more and more each year. I think they know what's good for them and what's not. That's also why each new Housewive feuds with Nene as a part of their storyline (minus Cynthia & Porsia, they were friends with her). Like...I don't know how else to explain it to you. Nene is still active in the dramatics, therefore she helps the ratings. I never once said she was the sole, essential reason but she is still an important ingredient to the show's success. The fact remains that she's the face of the brand. Period. There is nothing further I can say to you that I haven't already.

Kim, Sheere, and Nene were definitely the best trio, imo. The wig pulling incident, the reunion with Neverland comment from Nene, etc. Whew, such good times.
And no, Kenya is not gonna be the face of the show. She's entertaining because of her delusions of grandeur but she's probably gonna be upstaged by Claudia this season.
