How is she a non-factor if they have sold almost the same amount of records in those markets?
Those are JLo's biggest markets and yet Shakira is extremely close with less material released or aimed at those countries  Not only that but Shakira has been beating her since 2005, the only success JLo had since then was thanks to Pitbull.
Most people in this forum are american anyway so this is by no means a measure of how global they are.

You keep on switching your argument up. When it comes to MUSICAL impact/success in the UNITED STATES, she loses (or is equal). I hear HDL get recurrent airplay (not THAT often, but it will get played). Plus, the whole "Shakira's hips don't lie" joke has been used multiple times on social media. Both LGL and WFT were left in their respective years.
Oh, and BTW, "Haven't seen a booty this good since Jenny From The Block" (aka the Booty remix)...you wanna say that JFTB impact < LGL and WFT impact still?
EDIT: I could really care less about this. They both are successful in different ways. They derive from different sources and entertain in different forms. Society in general is so obsessed about being on top when a competition is unnecessary. Who cares if some random bitches think Shakira > JLo or JLo > Shakira? (The correct answer is Shakira = JLo, btw). :P

Shakira has only released 4 english language Albums. 3/4 are certified in the UK. Her spanish Albums were not released in the UK. Keep seething  . I posted receipts, you didn't.

The trend of (fading) popstars using talent shows to boost their carreer, JLo started it. Before JLo, no popstar that still has any kind of carreer would touch a talent show with a ten foot pole.

Well first of all this thread is about musical impact so none of that is relevant to this argument, besides JLo didn't start the talent show judge trend, if anything it was The Voice that started it.

Yeah, Numbers, Touring all works in Favour of Shakira in her weakest Market. 17 Top10, still only 10 of them certified, makes you think doesn't it?
