Right. Ticket prices are set based on the demand for the artist, and what the tour sponsor(s) believes ppl will pay to see the artist. There are other factors that are included (seat, section, etc), but that's the bulk of it.
If ticket prices were based on talent, some artists' shows would be free.

If you add up all the shows and everyone did the same number of shows (145) but still made their respective gross the tables would change completely.
