No they don't. The creators said they could make an appearance though, but maybe not as Sidney or Gale.
But it's not horrible. It's just good old MTV. I'm a huge SCREAM fan and I didn't really expect much from this. Ill definitely watch the whole series, I mean it's not that bad and I want to find out who the killer is! If it's the reporter or the ass hole boyfriend I'll be disappointed. That would suck and be cliche. I love the asian girl who likes the geeky guy, but I just have a hunch it's her for some reason..
Oh God could you stop complaining 24/7? If you're not happy with the storyline or the acting, then STOP WATCHING, you'll be fine and people that enjoy the show will be as well.
I really like it so far, nothing revolutionary but it's not the goal of the show. I've always been a huge Scream fan so it's so good to see it going on somehow.

I've been waiting for news on a 5cream and since that seems to not be coming any time soon (if at all)...this is a great thirst quencher.
