i think it'll go #1 once promo starts again for TEOG, i heard there will be alot...

im happy that its top 5, without any gimmick or controversy or hype, and still TOP 5 , its quite an achievement, im a gaga fan but i dont like it at times that there are alot of press around her singles or songs... if its really pure true music, itll achieve more coz people will listen to it even if it takes 3 months to go #1...

CKB was a mistake. I think IDJ was just really excited the idea of it taking off on the adult formats that it clouded their judgment. The updates you posted weren't today's. CKB is past 17 million AI & got a (+0.312) update.

Both songs were risks, & it's evident in their overall amounts. The safer songs are the ones that get the massive updates, unless they are songs that eventually catch on like Rolling In the Deep. Speaking of which, RITD was doing terrible on radio until 4-5 months into its release. Not saying CKB will be even half of the hit that monster is, but it's just saying initial updates are never the final story. Risks just don't immediately get received well.

It is getting played a lot, just not to the extent of hitting #1. I think it has more to do with the timing. It's just that party songs are the popular trend (it's summer, after all) and have become heavily mainstream so those types (in this specific case, Give Me Everything and Party Rock Anthem) are getting more attention.

"Thinking of You" was a ballad, and it semi-failed. So, Katy probably won't be taking any risks until next album, so she won't mess up her chances of tying or even beating Michael's record. And "Teenage Dream" wasn't too far from a ballad. Today's "ballads" aren't synonymous to true ballads from years ago. People even call "The Edge of Glory" a "ballad."

theres something called ballads, midtempos, and uptempos. Neither one is a ballad.
