As anti-Katy I've been recently, I have to agree with this. Wise single choices for sure. Which is why I don't understand why people are pushing for LFN, which is in some ways like CG. They need to end the era before they break something so good.

Probably because it's surefire #1 smash waiting to happen.

Obviously single wise her songs are different, I'm not stupid to realise the massive contrast of 'Teenage Dream' to 'E.T.', but where can Katy really go with her next album? I don't know the future, but I don't expect her to really grow as an artist, I personally think that she will just repeat what she did this era.

Sis, you better not be coming for LFN They have to release it as the next single (for the summer), no one cares if it sounds like CG, it will still smash hard, even as a 5th single

"First #1 album for Rihanna of the Past 10 years = 10th studio album name here"?
Also, using "most blah blah blah's" is such a weak argument for Rihanna stans, seeing as she has about a million singles and five albums in an amazingly short timespan. We're gonna want sales receipts, girl.

I hate that the #1 album thing is still such a big deal. Loud sold 207K first week, which is very healthy, and it should also be noted Loud opened with more than Teenage Dream & Animal despite opening two positions lower than those albums.

To repeat herself? What's that supposed to mean? She's pop artist and she's probably going to make another pop record. But that doesn't mean she's going to repeat herself. Have you listened to "One Of The Boys"? It's miles metter than Teenage Dream. Now tell me sincerely who's really growing as an artist in this pop industry these days?

52. Motivation
This is holding up amazingly well. With airplay gaining nicely, Kelly has finally got herself a hit.

Meh. Comparing to them looks kind of bad, because you can't ignore the circumstances. Animal did 162k in January, her first album, with a lot of people writing her off to flop. Teenage Dream did 192k in August, which is kind of in the middle of it all. The fact Loud only did 15k-25k more than them with 2 hits and on the busiest sales week of the year doesn't look good.
Not saying the sales weren't healthy for her, nor getting into the #1 album thing. Just these particular comparisons don't make her look GREAT.

And had Holiday sales while (back then) Katy's 1st week was one of the worst weeks for album sales since 1991. You can't possibly compare August with late November sales.

I've come to accept the fact that Rihanna will never do big numbers. But I think Katy & Ke$ha are in the same exact boat, & my personal opinion is that they will face the same first-week fates as Rihanna in the future but I could be completely wrong. Animal had the amazing discount (even I couldn't resist it) & the humungous monster that was Tik Tok, which was bigger than Only Girl & What's My Name? combined. Teenage Dream's first week-sales were also underwhelming to most, she had just come off California Gurls, a 7 week (?) #1, & Teenage Dream the song was exploding by the release week (I believe it sold 259K the week the album was available for purchase). So she also had two singles out. Loud wasn't released on a super-boosted sales week, since Black Friday week is truly when sales get a big bump. However, the sales were boosted nonetheless, but I still think it would've done about Teenage Dream's #s (192K).
My opinion, at this point, success-wise, is that Katy > Rihanna > Ke$ha. Rihanna has never seen single-success like Katy is currently seeing, but album-sales wise, I think they're on the same level. Loud has almost caught up to Teenage Dream's sales with three months less of sales, & with singles that are having about half the success of Katy's. TD will keep the sales lead but it will be close. I'm anxious to see how Ke$ha's next album does because while Animal did decent (platinum was expected by the time she got her 4th Top 10), Cannibal did very poorly. Hopefully she is smart and changes her sound a little, just my personal thing.

I don't think so. All I know is that as soon as it airs iTunes is going to be a big mess
