It was going alright until the actual "MUSIC" parts of it. They aren't allowed to use ANY of Aaliyah's music so her "Performances" are just auto-tuned, generic, music that kills the entire vibe of the movie. Like if they were allowed to actually play "One in a Million" or "Are you that Somebody" people would be having such different reactions to it.
So you disliked most of it basically but you think it wasn't bad?
For being a low budget Lifetime movie with no support from her family or friends, it wasn't bad. The movie was enjoyable at times, but then again, I watched it without any negative bias. What made me dislike the movie overall was the lack of Aaliyah music and poor casting choices, and the ending.
This movie was absolutely disrespectful to her life and legacy. I was a true Aaliyah fan and I wish they would have worked closer with the family to make it a movie the family approved of. Instead they threw this together can called it a movie. None of her music was used, the time line was extremly fast, the character portrayal was laughable, it was just horribly put together. Wendy Williams should be ashamed of herself. I pray someone speaks with the family and is able to create a movie that shows the beautiful essence of Aaliyah's life and career because she deserves to have her story told. RANT OVER.
Now the Whitney ohuston movie comes out in jan so lets brace ourselves
All I know is that her family, Timba, Missy and Drake will be PERCHED in front of their tv's. The twitter rants and comments during and after the airing will be the biggest Kii of It all. Bookmark me.
