I use some of her singles but Katy's biggest strength - her general appeal and girl next door coquettishness - is a turn off for me. I understand her commercial slayage but I prefer a more refined, sensual approach to music.

No shade tho. Walking On Air is some next level ****.

I don't think she's terrible or anything like that. but I would like to see some growth before considering stanning. And as of right now I don't see it

Not predictability and basic music being the two main reasons people don't stan for Katy

I will defend Katy in the sense that she (and her team) are very smart, and know how to please both the GP and her fanbase. I will admit, I've not really enjoyed the Prism era as it just feels like a basic and watered down version of the TD era (which was flawless with great music).

It kinda sucks for Katy because people want her music to show growth, well if you actually listen to her discography and non-singles you will see that she has some pretty decent music actually. Most people saying she's immature and predictable have probably never heard anything outside her singles.

Katy is a great person, I love her personality. She is very down to earth and makes good pop music but she doesn't have anything exceptional that sets her apart.

I mean, yes, she is very successful and has her achievements BUT as a fan, I need more. I want to see more...I need to experience something different and mind blowing, not the repetitive stuff over and over again.

And her Live performances are just awful!

The success that she has can be used for stan war receipts....but what about other things, the more important things? Like live performances, experimental & daring music? She should let go of the formula and try different things.

Basically, there is nothing that sets Katy apart from anyone else. She doesn't have that appeal to grab ur attention, or surprise you or excite you. I need that in my fave...the constant suspense & experimentation with music!

I don't want to use the word "basic" or "generic" here....but I will say that everything with Katy is formulaic, which might work on the charts but it doesn't translate into iconic legacy!

I stan for Gaga and they are the polar opposites....so you can see what my point is and why I can't stan for Katy.

But I guess, I would consider myself a casual fan, because I do enjoy most of her music.

Basic music. A few gems but lots of filler. Her performances are mediocre to say the least and she doesn't really bring anything to the table.

Some of her album tracks are below average fillers and her performances can be quite embarassing. But she's funny, a sweet person, gorgeous, I love her sense of humour and her singles slay careers (except for the ballads)
