I agree about finals over papers though, I hateee writing. I had to write a 10 page research paper and finished like an hour before class started on no sleep, then had to do a presentation on it
I have 2 finals on Monday and 1 on Wednesday then I can sleep

RIGHT?? It's so stupid.. everything you've done the entire semester means jack **** because this test will make or break you

And omg y'all papers suck. I recently picked up a Business Journalism double major though, and I find that articles are so much easier to write, even if lengthy, than straight up research papers.

It's impossible to cheat, when in every exam, we are allowed at least 2 pages, double sided reference sheet. So I just write as little as possible to squeeze in literally every single detail from the text book. I mean, legitly cheating of course approved by the program

I always surprise myself everytime I have to write those lengthy reports because I'm in IT Security, and each "log report" would be at least 10-15 pages per assignment, that I complete them despite my ESL barrier.

I mean, I don't mind papers so much if it's about something interesting, it's fun to go IN a little, but if it's about something boring af I always leave it till last minute.

What kind of a lazy teacher At least cut it down to two-three tests, worth 10% each, and leave the remaining 30% for the final exam.

I took a class once where the only grade was the final paper, which the professor never distributed written instructions for. The syllabus didn't give a schedule for reading, and the lectures were kinda all over the place. Needless to say, I never opened my book and didn't bother writing the paper. The only class I've ever failed in my life. And I don't even care.
And then I had another class where we had a community service project worth like 20% of the grade and I didn't do it because I'm a lazy, depressed über-introvert so I got a C+ in the class despite acing every quiz and pulling in more than a 100 on the midterm.

Try hooking up with your hot program coordinator, or a dean. That'll get you expelled in no time.

I've had classes where 100% of the grade was the final exam... even going to class is optional lol.
There was also this class where the instructor would take your final exam score as your grade if it's higher than anything else you did in the class. So someone could literally not do any of the homework, not do the midterm, and get an A... it was ridiculous

I have to do so many extracurriculars if I ever hope to study in a good US.
Joining Red Cross, which is something I genuinely enjoy and I'm volunteering in festivals and marathons.

If nothing works out I can just go to AUB (which is #1 in Lebanon) on a full scholarship.

Hahah oh my god gurl that's so lucky and smart! I had one where I was allowed a cheat sheet, and it definitely helped me do better on the final. The instance during the Poli exam for me, I just took out my phone because that exam was miles harder than anyone expected to me. I was sitting in the back row, and when I looked over at everyone next to me, they were on their phones also.

Gurl, since I was like 5! Are you also?
& Thanks! Studying has been brutal during college, and truth be told this semester I studied so much, and I barely made the GPA necessary to get on the Dean's List But I'm hoping to put more time into next semester and hopefully raise my GPA up to a bit more solid point.

With that being said, you are doing well studying before the class starts that's how you ensure you'll get the grade you want

Calculus is pretty much algebra. You still follow all the rules and incorporate it into new formulas which is considered calc. If someone is rusty with their algebra, then they're going to be rusty with calculus in my opinion. So I think her self-teaching is a good idea

I start uni next year and I am so nervous. I'm already nervous about the exams.

Hello,
I need an immediate answer to this question please:
My brother is currently in his third year in school studying Economics (in Malaysia) and he's considering transferring his transcript to California State University Long Beach for his final year. He has checked the courses both universities offer and they match completely. My question is would he be allowed to transfer for just one year in CSULB?
We've emailed the school but they're yet to get back to us (It's been over two weeks now).
Please help answer this, it's urgent. Thanks sisters!

I mean, I don't think anyone here can answer that, it's up to the school...but I don't see why he wouldn't be able to. It might be different if he's transferring from another country too.
However, I did transfer after my third year to another school, and just finished my senior year, but I need I do another year to makeup the credits because I changed majors
Even though some courses match up that doesn't mean they will 100% transfer...for example one of my biology courses didn't transfer so I had to retake it and it was the exact same thing. Don't know why it didn't transfer. When you send the transcript they'll mail you a letter telling you what credits transferred if all of them did not.
I would email them again or call them

I'm just excited and I had to post.
