I joined a gym in May and went literally every day bar two or three days out of the month, and I saw no weight loss results. Of course, I wasn't looking for a quick way to lose weight, I was just trying to start living a healthier lifestyle and then I got burnt out after that first month but I've still been going two to three times a week. Some days I am so pumped to go and some days I really have to push myself, but once I get there and start with some music, I feel great.
I was going every morning before work but that became too difficult because my house and job are on the other side of town and I was having to get up at 6 so I could get to the gym at 6:20-6:30, do 30-40 minutes of cardio (elliptical, bike, stairstepper, etc.) and then about twenty minutes of strength training on the weight machines. Then I would sit in the sauna for ten minutes and finish up by doing some laps in the pool. I felt so energized throughout the day but I kept finding myself being late for work because I had to shower at the gym and get ready after doing an almost two hour workout and it was just cutting too close.
So now I go after work and it's much easier, but I feel so drained by the end of the day that it's easy to put it off. I have gained some muscle which I've noticed but my weight has fluctuated between three pounds for almost three months. I've become more active, started eating less junk throughout the day (I sit at a desk so it really packed on when I got my new job). I drink water all day and never drink soda, unless it's a Dr. Pepper 10 or Cherry Coke Zero. I'm not too stressed either but I've always been overweight, and when I started getting taller it distributed my fat very well so I appeared pretty thin.
I just don't know what to do. And I'm not trying to be a skinny minny, I've never been and that's not my goal. I just hate sitting at a desk all day (it's all I can do for my job) but I try to get up and jump around to some music every couple of hours. So I'm trying to be more active to offset the damage done while I'm at work. Some days I don't even eat lunch because I know I won't burn any of it off and it will just keep packing on.
God that was long and a lot of information. I probably won't get any replies
