22. Fall Out Boy - Thnks Fr Th Mmrs
Fall Out Boy first and only entry in my top 50 this year. This is obviously the best single they have released off Infinity On High, the song is extremely catchy and Patrick's vocals work perfectly. The video is very creative, yeah, I like the monkeys concept, and as weird as it sounds I think it fits the song in a way. The catchy chorus and orchestra intro, made me like the song from first listen. I can't wait to hear more from them in the years to come if it's gonna be as good as this song.
21. Maroon 5 - Wake Up Call
This is definitely one of the best singles Maroon 5 has ever released. The violent lyrics and their soulful pop/rock sound, the mini-movie video, everything worked perfectly. The song is about the response to catching one's lover in bed with another, that's a very mature topic considering what their older songs were about. They also managed to release one of the best videos of the year, and the song spent many days at number one in my countdown. Expect one more song from them later in the countdown.
