Oh.... my.... gaw.. What was that? I'm glad I heard the song before seeing the video because I actually do like the song.
Isn't Katy an A-Class star? How could they have given her such bad special effects? That was really cringe-worthy. The plot line barely had anything to do with the lyrics, not that it matters, but with the tiger references and the jungle-roaring, it seemed they were going for that.
I liked that Katy wasn't taking herself seriously but she's 28. This is some 14 year old, Rebecca Black type video.
You can tell that at this point in her career, Katy doesn't feel, or place pressure, on herself to over do it. If she wants to be a goofball in a video, she's going to do it. It comes off likeable and the visuals are fun. The throwback inspired title was also a nice touch.
This video is for children, and then again, not all types of children. Not that it's a bad but it's not my thing. I mean, I don't discriminate things aimed at children, I could watch cartoons all day but I'd rather watch Rockos's Modern Life than Blue's Clues, if you know what I mean.

The special effects were high budget for a simple video. They look great.
The plot suited the song, the song doesn't have a plot so that doesn't make sense.
