I agree. The Digimon TV series is actually way better. Pokemon was always very predictable. Digimon wasn't always 100% what you expected. Although, the Pokemon games! >>>>>
I am a massive fan of Digimon & Pokemon. But I have to say, Digimon owns in the Anime department and Pokemon owns at the Game department. Although, Digimon Masters is a brilliant game that Pokemon will never tbh. But the classic Pokemon games slay lives.
Series 1 of Digimon is my favorite. It's a brilliant series that was amazingly executed. The only weak character in my eyes was Etemon. More annoying than scary.
Series 2 was really a re-hash of series 1. Black rings = Black gears. The Arc's drag on to long, and I got so sick of Mummymon and that Spider digimon. Like **** off. There was nothing new here, and I hated that suddenly there were hundreds of Digi Destined around the world. Like wtf. Ruins the magic of the first series knowing there are hundreds of others out there. But the ending with all the digivolutions was cool.
Series 3 was a lot darker as Digimon's audience was growing up, but still kept the charm of the first two. Guilmon, Terriermon and the other one that is white and isn't really a digimon, are so cute. Later in life, I kept saying 'Momentai' to everyone when I had no idea where I got it from. I just started re-watching Series 3 and was like "OMG THAT'S WHERE IT'S FROM!!!"
Series 4 was okay. The only reason I liked it was because of the Holy Digimon, who all three are my favorite. But I wish they just stuck with normal digimon, I mean the popularity of it fell dramatically when they made Digimon into people. Plus the characters are not that interesting in the sub or dub.
Series 5 in all honesty, I didn't get to watch because it aired on Digital TV here and I didn't have it at the time. Picked up the first DVD and I actually love it! It's really good. The only annoying this is the Digital World looks stupid rather than cool. They got the Digital world spot on the first time, no need to change it up. Also the Digivolutions seem a bit out of wack. Digmon? Seriously? That was random. I'll keep watching.
Series 6 seems good but the I wanna wait for the dub before I get into it. The sub is okay but one thing I hate about the original series is that there is like a lack of music and echo on all the voices. It sounds cheap at times.
