Do you guys think she might just be trying to get out of her RCA contract? I believe this is her final album in the contract...could explain the lack of promo. Of course, she could just not give a ****.

It's not entirely up to her how much she promotes right now. Certain things that management finds for her are her decision, yes, but the contract she initially signed with RCA records would have had a promo clause in there. For RCA and Kelly's benefit. RCA isn't going to sign someone that won't agree to do a certain amount of promo that they arrange, etc. So, I'd say she is contractually obligated to do a certain amount. That doesn't necessarily mean they are obligated to give her any promo though.. that's something that they can determine being the label. But if they want to, she needs to.
Just because there hasn't been any promo yet in the States doesn't mean there's not gonna be any.
She'll obviously be doing a big promo campaign during the release week here. She has for every single album release.
Guarantee she'll do Ellen, GMA, Today Show, The View or The Talk, Kelly & Michael, probably at least 2 of Fallon/Kimmel/Letterman, etc. Y'all need to stop overreacting.

Exactly. She generally does about 2 tv shows around single release, and then does the big stuff release week. People are acting like she's done NOTHING just because she hasn't been on tv yet (in the states).

THANK YOU. People in these threads have this urgent, ADD-level concern with what is happening right in the moment. I guarantee you she'll be fine in regard to promo.
We are getting the first promo song in DAYS and then each day following that. Just be excited that we have a slow unveiling. This album is going to be incredible.

Those are all the #1 albums of 2015. Taylor's managed the past few weeks at #1 with around 100k. Pure sales are in brackets on the right. As you can see with streaming etc, if Kelly only did sell like 80k, she could probably reach 100k with streams added in.
Debuts of 2015 -
Title - 238k (195k)
American Beauty - 218k (192k)
Reflection - 80k (62k)
Uptown Special - 76k (46k)
Gyal, you and your optimism for such high streaming numbers for Kelly.
