Did you see the daily mail piece? They were literally praising Eminem who literally raps about brutally killing his wife for his artistry but dragging Rih's. The irony is palpable
Yeah, i've read quite a lot of Op-Eds on the video and it's just fascinating the lengths these white women will go to to tarnish her name when they will excuse these other white people for doing the same thing.
I'm guessing if it was a Black woman manhandled in the video, they wouldn't even care. But alas, white woman > pure > divine > saintly and all.

White is right ofc!!!111111
Oh it wasn't DM it was The Guardian, but it's article where a mother complains about the graphicness of the video when there's a clear warning in the beginning you can't get more idiotic
Quote:
Eminem’s material featuring murdered women (Bonnie & Clyde; Kim) worked as urban cartoons, within which he made valid points about the fragile nature of uncontrolled male rage.
By contrast, BBHMM’s plot (I’m angry with an accountant so I’m gonna kill his chick) has no nuance no artistry. Moreover, just because, in Rihanna’s musical sphere and beyond, there are misogynistic male artists, this doesn’t automatically give her the same “privileges”. Not only is reversing gender roles very pat and tired, BBHMM doesn’t even follow through properly.
WTF? This is honestly creepy and disturbing. It's like a modern day slave camp for songwriters. It's like one of those South Korean hit factories except Bey never scores hits which is even more tragique.
I just wonder why all these accusations of misogyny didn't come up when Taylor released Bad Blood which also featured girl on girl violence? The premise of the song itself which is about hating other women? But no, they always jump on black women, Bey, Nicki, Rih, like vultures but give Katy and Gaga who are actually anti feminist a free pass it's disgusting.
The only people praising it were the pressed Katy Kats that hate Selena. Morbidly for the summer was destined to be a tragic flop and Demi can't use payola to build momentum anymore. Her album is destined to fail Selena and Mildred remain winning

Are you going to compare BBHMM's violence with BB's?

reach for the stars why don't you. Bad Blood was nothing more than those spy kids movies cut down to 5 minutes. There was actual brutal torture scenes in BBHMM as well as drugs nudity etc. Eminem is indeed trash but so is that video. Not for the violence but just for being extra in search of shock views
White pop girl releases controversial video - 'is _____ changing the face of feminism?'
Black pop girl releases controversial video - *writes lengthy think piece accusing said girl of violent anti feminism and misogyny*
Lena Dunham gets naked on her show and she's a feminist icon utilising her right to use her sexuality, Nicki Minaj is a dirty ***** setting back feminism 1000 years.
It doesn't matter how successful Demi or this trash ass song will get (80% chance it won't even do anything). She's literally unstannable. There's nothing to stan. We already have KC and we barely use that bitch as it is. There's nothing interesting or appealing about her!
Jes Skolnik: The thinkpiece conversation already active hours after this video dropped--about whether “BBHHM” is feminist or not--is utterly off-the-mark. It does not matter. Feminism isn’t a perfect binary framework you can set over a piece of pop media to see whether key points align. It’s a complex set of theories and practices which are sometimes in conflict with one another. The world we live in is ****ed, far from a utopia despite so many everyday struggles and small fights. Rihanna knows this, and she’s carved out a space for herself in which survival-level politic is always referenced first – and this is what speaks to me personally about the music she’s making currently and the imagery she’s using. This entire song and video is about how one does not **** with Rihanna, which is, any way you look at it, an incredibly bold assertion of power that deserves our respect and a deeper context than ‘is this feminist or not.’
