Racist/misogynistic gay men who can create works of art through apparel, who can influence entire generations. When you think about any era of the previous century, what's the first thing that pops into your head? The fashion! It is arguably the most important facet of pop culture, even more than music since pop stars either follow the fashions or play a part in creating them. Looks can immortalise pop stars and sometimes are the only reasons why they're remembered.

Fashion is so fascinating and exciting the way it's so under appreciated is disheartening.

The GP doesn't care what designer decided to add fringes in 1982 to their thousand dollar dress, how many boring magazines some anorexic girl we've never heard of covered or why denim is popular in H&M. We just look at the price, try it on, and keep it moving.

The same can be said about popstars and actresses and all women in the entertainment industry.

Just depends how you look at it.

"Hot New accessory" about Du-Rags which have been worn by black guys since forever

It's just a ****ing all around mess. And nevermind the amount of racism and prejudice, cultural approriation, etc that is generally accepted in the fashion industry. They'd rather hire a bunch of white models and paint them in black face for a "tribal" shoot because it's ~high fashion~ than dare employ a couple more black models, who are very few and far between as is.

Perhaps the GP don't care about the designers and the models, but they do care about clothes and what they are wearing, not to mention the clothing TRENDS are set by the fashion industry - which affects the GPs choice of clothing.

I mean.
But overall I dont care for high fashion editorial mess, like I hated half of Rih's Tush shoot (except for my avi ). But a lot of regular streetwear people put out is cute. Like, Jeremy Scott and Alexander McQueen are/were amazing whenever I randomly look them up.
