I just thought about something, why doesn't Madonna tour South Africa? All other major act does well there, so why not her?
Madonna is an industry force and works to please the big guys, if there's no money to collect somewhere she might not do it. Probably not profitable for her costs.

I think she needs to at least test the market. I know for Canada she never really played many places other than Toronto and would do Montreal almost every other tour. She then started doing Montreal's Bell Center routinely and then with Sticky & Sweet she finally came to Vancouver and then for the MDNA Tour she did 2 in Vancouver and then came to Ottawa for the first time ever, which is surprising since Ottawa is the nations capitol and is in-between Montreal and Toronto.
Looking into watching/owning Madonna's movies. Which of the list are her 'must-see' ones? I put them in what order I think I would watch them and bolded the ones I would actually care to watch:

A Certain Sacrifice Who's That Girl W.E. Dick Tracy Evita
Dangerous Game Body of Evidence

I've seen The Next Best Thing many times, great movie and she was actually pretty good int it. Evita was fine as well.
You don't wanna see Swept Away And I think I Am Because We Are is some kind of document no?
I saw just trailers but Dick Tracy and BoE seemed... badly
Desperately Seeking Susan is her second best film behind Evita.
I think she's a very average actress. She is most natural in the above. The way she delivered lines in Swept Away was abominable. She was great in Dick Tracy but I've never liked the film overall.
I think it's difficult for her to overcome BEING Madonna in films because she has been such a penetrating figure in pop culture that it's hard to see her playing character roles without thinking "oh, it's Madonna". Like whenever I see Oprah in a film or show I think "she's going to tell everyone to look under their chair...".

I only read about it like 2 weeks ago and it sounds like a good movie. I really don't dislike any movie so I think I'll actually enjoy it. I've watched Evita as a TV movie so many times growing up I don't think I actually like watching it anymore.
My cousins had Dick Tracy when I was a kid, but I've never watched it...

I like that view point on Madonna. I think its the same as Cher, they expect a big grand performance from her with hair and outfit changes, which is probably why Burlesque was the perfect fit for her. I think it Madonna was offered a diva HBIC role she would get decent critiques on it.
