I think Can't Let Go is not on the standard edition 25 because it conflicts with the whole theme of letTING go that, for example, Send My Love is based on. In fact, I have no idea why Adele even wrote a song like that...

do we know when CLG was written and recorded? it shouldn't matter, she let go of the ex in 2011 already, so i dunno. maybe it's actually personal? or did she find it was easier to make great songs dealing with lost love? how much is Linda part of the writing? has Adele commented on CLG besides saying she wont do it live?

CLG is amazing and it's not about the 21 ex it's about Simon. Me and Daydreams have broken down each song to the T. The rumours that she and Simon had gone through a rough period were true and she confirms it with the way she describes WUTB and what it's about. CLG is written during the time she was recording in LA and was taking a break from Simon you know writing this album was stressful like she said and it was difficult for both just watch her Brits acceptance speeches.

well this explains it, in every real relationship there are roughness and ups and downs, god knows. and yeah her crying during acceptannce speech at Brits makes more sense.
so now, i feel even more that CLG should be more out to the public, i fully understand why she doesn't want to since it's very personal and regarding her husband, bit at the same time it makes 25 as a work feel more profound. and mot importantly, it's such an amazing song

From the interview he's saying that her team didn't get back to him yet, they didn't confirm her involvement in the movie. But overall he's not confirming nor denying the cameo and it's making me frustrated. Just say no so i can fume or yes so i can be hyped. But this teasing is unbearable.

I don't think "Can't Let Go" is better than "Someone Like You," just because "Someone Like You" is such a classic—it's incomparable. But it's still amazing. Like everyone else has said, "Can't Let Go" is similar to "All I Ask" and contradicts the theme of the main album. I've always thought the 25 bonus tracks would have made the album more organic if they replaced "Send My Love," "Water Under the Bridge," and "River Lea" (which definitely have the most pop/different production from the rest of the album). But the album is so good that I'm also fine with them being bonus tracks (besides, "Lay Me Down" is my least favorite on the album anyways).

Anyways... That's really interesting, Cockney Cupcake! I always thought she may have written "Can't Let Go" about her dad or something like that, because of lyrics like "I have loved you all my life." But that makes sense that it would be about a rough patch that she hit in her relationship with Simon. What was you guys' verdict on "Love in the Dark"? I've always wondered what she wrote that song about.

Also, she needs to upload the rest of the Church Studios performances in full (including "Hello"). I seriously think the tour DVD should be released in a collectors' box set with the Radio City Music Hall and BBC specials, her complete Glastonbury concert, and the Church Studios performances. I would LOVE that.

Love In The Dark isn't about Simon, it's about Mr 21 and about when they met up to clear things up and give an end to all of this like she said he came in touch with her and it's like the songs that really closes the 21 era relationship wise. You see it in the lyrics. I can't break my entire theory right now bc I'm going to a family dinner but yeah it's pretty interesting. If Daydreams comes in she'll explain, she knows what my thoughts on it are and she'll be more articulate lol

On the subject of "Mr. 21," I'm really confused... (Anyone can answer this, I know Cupcake is busy.) Is he who inspired "Send My Love" and tried to "come into her personal space"? I always thought "Send My Love" was inspired by a guy she dated in between "Mr. 21" and Simon, but now I don't know.

Does someone wanna clear this up for me? Thanks!

I agree. I still think the rumors about them being apart for a time, etc were true and is what inspired the "almost-breakup" songs on the album.

She talked about the songs having a personal meaning and not discussing it in some interviews and it's likely that she didn't want to tell people about her relationship with Simon as it would have caused the media to constantly speculate that they're breaking up, etc.
