Thats the thing - I don't know where I'd prefer them. In the Senate they don't have a big enough platform to make a big name for themselves and really get their voice heard. They'll definitely try to get things done but the Republican tide will always shoot them down and block any progress. Warren has been very vocal in Congress during her time there but has achieved very little. Same for Gillibrand, with her acute focus on sexual violence in the military amounting to nothing. To be honest they could be better used in different capacities. We all know how things work in Congress, and its always about party lines - the Whips do all the work.

I don't know about that though. The only times in recent history that I can remember where we had two-term SoS's were with Ronald Reagan and Lyndon B. Johnson. And they still had two each, it's just that their first one's left really early.

even her supposedly bad votes are are mini accomplishments. She pushed through amendments to the patriot act (a bill that was going to be unanimously voted for either way) that required the NSA to get warrants. She pushed through amendments in the bankruptcy bill (which also passed unanimously) to protect single mothers and the poor.

Republicans think by liking Carson, they can get away with all the racism accusations.
They also like that he says Muslims are scum
They also like that he thinks the Jews should've had guns during the holocaust
They also think Obamacare is worse than slavery

Overall, he appeals to crazy people and all the crazy people in America vote Republican and vote at the primaries so it's really win win. I mean, Mike Huckabee won Iowa in 2008 for god's sake, and he's only marginally better.
