That would literally be the WORST time she could possibly release. Taylor's 3rd/4th week blocking KP4 from number one would be SO embarrassing and the media would lash her endlessly especially given their feud. She needs to stay as far away from Taylor's release schedule as possible

Well, she hinted the same thing towards the end of Red Tour and it finished like two months before 1989 got released. So I think it's pretty safe to say it's probably coming in October since she now has a 10 month gap. Also, her dad confirmed she started working on it a couple of months ago.

imo it is pretty dumb for Katy to release after Taylor, but the promo would practically make itself and the whole thing would be such an event. Kind of like Justin/1D but people would actually care
