Yeah she often makes it obvious who a song is about, but the song quality usually doesn't suffer from that and certainly doesn't suffer on purpose.

Aside from Dear John sounding like a Mayer track, it also is one big scathing, cruel character assassination. If she was vindictive enough to write something like that I don't think it's a stretch to conclude she would make it a point to make fun of Katy's writing by parodying it.

i agree to a certain respect. taylor loves to play the victim. from what we know, i really don't think john (DJ), camila (BTR), katy (BB), etc. deserved the responses from her that they got. taylor most likely over exaggerated and made them seem like horrible people, which is very unfair. and i get why john mayer responded the way he did.

doesn't mean DJ isn't a fantastically written song--phenomenal, in fact. i cannot believe she wrote that at such a young age
