i think it's a mix of those.
with pink, i guess that dave was hired from laface records to do the first videos with her. they most probably hit it off, so she wanted to keep him around a bit longer, until she realized that she wanted something different and went with francis lawrence to do jlap with... wise choice! it's imo her best video to date (and one of the best videos ever).
from the sober music vid making of we know that akerlund wanted to work with pink for a while, and vice versa. but i don't know if the label arranged that or if they maybe met each other at some event.
