George Lopez has to be one of the most generic comedy shows ever aired on TV, except it dealt with Hispanics as opposed to White people. But other than that, it fits literally EVERY family sitcom stereotype out there.
-Middle class family in nice neighborhood? Check
-Takes place in Los Angeles? Check
-Has a "wise-cracking" husband who doesn't understand his wife? Check
-A hot woman who is married to a guy who's nowhere near her league? Check
-A sarcastic mother-in-law who is abrasive to her son and doesn't like his wife for no reason? Check
-An overbearing father-in-law who despises the man his daughter married? Check
-A moody teenage girl who has a lot of fall-ins with boys in her high school? Check
-A dumb son who can barely make his way through school? Check
-A dopey, overweight friend who's literally only in the show to serve as a walking punchline? Check
Seriously, absolutely no creative thought put into it whatsoever. Benny was hilarious though, I'll give it that.
