Lemme just put my opinion here: I find songs that rhyme to simply be more fulfilling to read. I strongly encourage you NOT force a rhyme, because a bad rhyme is worse than no rhyme. At the same time, though, rhyming is one of the easiest and strongest assets any writer has, which is why you'll be hard pressed to find a song that DOESN'T implement rhyming into the lyrics.
Off of the top of my head, "Friday" by Rebecca Back has very little rhyming within its lyrics. Take that how you will.
