Zendaya visits Capital FM radio station studios
Earlier today, Zendaya dropped by Capital FM radio station studios right here in London where she's been staying for about a week now, promoting her latest single "Gunshots", which debuted at number one spot last week and sold over 600,000 copies. That is actually huge, considering Zendaya isn't really a big name yet in the music industry, but the promotion that Zendaya and Taylor Swift - who is featured on this track as well - did last week really paid off. Now, Zendaya continues promoting her single as she focuses a little bit more on United Kingdom and Europe this week, since it was all about promotion in United States last week. Of course, like it was expected, a lot of fans mobbed Zendaya as she arrived to the studios, but Zendaya seemed to be all cool with that and greeted every single fan that wanted to take a picture together or talk to her as well. Inside the building, Zendaya also did a little professional photoshoot as she posed with her fans who won exclusive meet and greet competition that was thrown by Capital FM on Twitter, and she also posed with the staff, radio hosts, Capital FM logo and other. After all that posing and everything, she finally sat down with one of the hosts to talk about everything that is currently going on in her life - starting with music, and ending up with personal life and inside scoop. After her interview, she also sat down with her guitarist and performed acoustic version of "Gunshots", which sounded phenomenal.
Host: Your new single went number one. How do you feel about that?
Zendaya: It's honestly crazy. Although it's been a week since the charts were published, but I still can't believe it and sometimes I catch myself smiling and thinking something like "wow, is our song really number one right now?" It's such a good feeling to know that all of your hard work really pays off with you just don't give up. I've had several problems and struggles with my music career before I got signed onto Republic Records, but I didn't give up when I was struggling - instead, I just lifted my chin, I took a deep breath, I overthinked what I want to do and what my current vision is, and I just went that route hoping for the best. Of course, if you want the best, you always have to work as well, you have to put a lot of energy to something, you have to dedicated a lot of time to that project, but in the end, it honestly pays off. And it did pay off for both of us - we have a number one single!
Host: So what's next for you and Taylor?
Zendaya: Well, this is the last week that we're promoting "Gunshots" that much, because we hit our goal, it's number one, it debuted with huge numbers, and well, basically, I'm not going to lie, but we wanted that number one. But yeah, besides that, we will still be promoting the single here and there, but not that much. I also would like it to hit Platinum, that would be really cool as well, both of my singles would be Platinum then. But yeah, besides focusing on "Gunshots", I have no idea what's next. I want to release another single before my albums release, so I guess I'll have to postpone the album, but just for now, the album's definitely coming out really soon, in couple of weeks, I promise! We're going to wrap up "Gunshots" promotion, then I'll release another single, which is also now chosen, I'm going to promote that single for a week or two as well, and then I'll just release my album. Everything's settling down right now and I'm so excited for all the stuff that's coming up.
Host: Earlier today, you showed us your new album cover, and it's so beautiful! Can you talk a little bit about the photoshoot that you did for this album campaign?
Zendaya: I've teamed up with this amazing photographer Aris Jerome, who is basically known for his simple and artistic photoshoots. This photoshoot that I did with him is really beautiful and natural, because I don't wear a lot of make-up, my hair is messy and just the way it is when I'm not doing any apperances or something. Everything just looks so natural, and I think it perfectly represents the album and its vibe - that chilled, not rushed and simplistic vibe. And that's what I pretty much like about this photoshoot - it's just simply beautiful.
Host: And you mentioned your new single is coming out in about a week. Can you tell us a bit about it?
Zendaya: Yes, the second single... I love this one. It was produced by DJ Mustard, and it's a little bit more upbeat than "Gunshots", because basically, "Gunshots" was more serious and laid down and the instrumental wasn't that overproduced because we didn't want instrumental to overshadow those lyrics, which have really important and strong message, so we wanted to focus more on lyrics and our vocals with "Gunshots", but this one is definitely more upbeat and more street-sounding, I don't know how to describe it, honestly. This song is something that I would describe as a mixture of urban and R&B, you know, it has those chilled-out vibes, but it's still a good jam that you can dance to in the club. And it's mid-tempo. For example, something like Tinashe's "2 On". But I'm not going to say anymore about this song! That's it!

Azealia on Boston 96.9

While on her promotion run for her latest single Paradiso and her album Reborn, Azealia Banks stopped by Boston's #1 urban radio station to talk about her album and single. Banks posted on her Facebook beforehand about the phoned in radio interview which lead to thousands of fans tuning in to this interview Azealia took part in. Being the kind person she is, in the interview Azealia gave away signed copies of her physical single Paradiso to fans who answered questions correctly about the rapper. Read below for highlights of the interview:
Q: Azealia Banks! Glad to have you here.
A: Great to be here. I love you guys.
Q: We love you! So you've really been blowing up as of late. You just got a number one single and people are predicting this to be your second number one album. What's been going through your mind for this?
A: It's been so crazy. Like forreal back about a year ago if you asked me if I would ever have a number one single I would just laugh in your face you know. It's just insane. I'm so happy as well with how well Reborn has been doing. I worked my ass off on this album. It's truly been all I could've asked for. With the success of Vibes, I just hope that Paradiso can do at least half of that.
Q: We think it wil! I mean you've been top 5 in almost every market this week and you're number one on so many radio stations including this one. You've really blown up this era.
A: Ooo don't jinx it though! I really have blown up and I'm real thankful. I have had such a good era with this and I hope I can continue it. I've been trying to get Paradiso out there for the fans and it's here and I am so happy with how it turned out. I've gotten so much love from fans saying it's the song of the summer for them and that's just so crazy for me considering I've always been labeled and targeted as a flop when I've worked my ass off and it's finally paying off.
Q: You really have showed the haters with this era. Vibes took off and Paradiso is just taking flight.
A: Yeah Paradiso is doing great right now and I'm so happy. It's such a fun song. Such a great song for me to perform. I love doing the whole beach thing.
Q: Speaking of performing, you performed at the Kids' Choice Awards and you had a wardrobe malfunction. Tell us about that.
A: Yes I did have a wardrobe malfunction. What had happened was is that I had a swimsuit on for the performance of Paradiso and there is a tie keeping each piece of the bathing suit together. Well I went down to like high five the fans and stuff and one girl grabbed my bathing suit and woop my titty fell out. I was embarrassed but hey, it could've been worse. I was so surprised with the positive reaction. I was so scared it was going to be like Janet but it seemed everyone didn't mind and people kept telling me about how I helped them accept their body. I was in shock, honestly. So thankful and it actually helped Paradiso's overall chart position!
Q: You were lucky with that one! Let's get to business though. What happened with you and Rita Ora?
A: Well I knew this question would come up. The thing is, me and Rita haven't ever got along. She's always used me for attention that her parents never gave her. It's sad and I pity her.
Q: Well just know we're on your side. I think this is all the time we have though. Thank you for coming here Azealia. Everyone at home go buy Reborn and Paradiso on iTunes! Here is Azealia's next new hit, Paradiso!

Just make sure you also tell me in your promotion list to look at the work for the 'Vibes' too. As Carlos put in his: "All of them are promoting 'On Hold' the lead single from the album, 'Enraged' the 2nd single & 'Count The Kills" the album."

What do you mean by promotion list? Are we meant to compile a list of the
articles we write each week or?

Alright sounds cool. I'll just be sure to mention that all promotion is mainly focusing on Paradiso and Reborn with minimal promo of Vibes.

RITA STUNS AT AMQ LAUNCH PARTY + PERFORMS 'LOSING ME' IN FRONT OF A 62K CROWD
Rita pulled up to the Alexander McQueen Fall Collection Launch Party wearing a custom made Riccardo Tisci dress and a Chanel clutch purse. She was announced as the new face of AMQ two nights ago, and she was expected to get all eyes on her. She certainly did. She arrived 20 minutes after the red carpet began and was the last but most spectacular look of the night. She waved to fans standing in the crowd and posed for pictures. She also modeled on the carpet as the paparazzi took pictures of her.
Before entering inside, she stopped to have a brief interview with E! News correspondent, Ryan Seacrest.
Hello Rita! You look gorgeous tonight! Who are you wearing?
I'm wearing a lovely Ricardo Tisci custom made gown, with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz.
You surely do look expensive! I just want to congratulate you on being the face of AMQ. I know you mentioned this begin a dream of yours.
Thank you! I had so much time shooting all the ads and commercials and I can't wait for you to see all of them.
Any hints of what you'll be performing inside?
I can tell you that I will be performing my new single 'Losing Me', and i might have a couple more surprises up my sleeve. You'll have to wait and see.
Well good luck tonight! I know you'll be great!
Thank you Ryan.
-------
Following a preview of the new collection, Rita was called to stage to perform. The lights in the theatre were all shut off, and red mist began floating across the stage. Rita walked across the stage towards the mic. Cheers echoed though out the theatre as Rita began to sing. Without any instruments accompanying, Rita sang the opening lines of her new track,Fire Starter, from her upcoming album.
At the end of the pre-chorus, Rita began to repeat the word 'starter' and each time she said it, she got a little louder and higher pitched. She repeated it four more times and the bass kicked in and the beat drop filling the entire theatre with flashing lights and oscillating synths. Rita jumped about kicking and dancing and the crowd joined it with her.
Slowly, the beat drop faded out, and the theatre was silent once again. Rita took her mic off the stand and sang "After me, it's all downhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill." She held out the last syllable for four seconds and the psychedelic synths of 'Losing Me' kicked in and she delivered a stunning rendition of her new single. It was truly a performance to see live. At the end of the song, the 62k in attendance applauded Rita and chanted her name. You could see from the smile on her face that she was living a dream.

Mariah on VH1 Save The Music Gala & Performance

Vh1 tweeted that they will premier their annual Save The Music Gala Red Carpet and Live Performance on television on their cable television channel and also the MTV channel soon a few hours ago which will feature huge stars like Mariah Carey and John Legend. About 7.5 million people tuned in through their television and the hastag #MConVh1Gala was trending for 5 hours worldwide during the timespan of the Gala. During the VH1 Gala Red Carpet, the attention was only focused on Mariah Carey along and no one else. People were worried that she was going to be late, but the woman of the hour Mariah Carey finally arrived in a long purple dress with butterfly rings on each hand and with silver stilettos just moments before the ceremony began. Mariah started posing as camera light's started flashing from seemingly everywhere. She also got interviewed a few times along the way and she also took some photos/selfies with her fans too. During the Gala, Mariah apparently went up to the stage to give a speech on how she feels about the current state of the music industry and what is her possible plans on promoting her music in the future.
Vh1 revealed that Mariah will be the last performer of the night and she will be singing two songs. The hashtag #MCon VH1perform was trending for at least 2 hours before Mariah even stepped up on stage to perform. After performances from great singers such as Alicia Keys and Josh Groban, Mariah Carey finally stepped up on stage to perform a few songs for the performance. For the performance, Mariah wore a Donatella Versace's homage to sexy includes reworking the 'cut out' long blue gown which evokes the spirit of the 80s with a matching 80s inspired black stilettos which seems to be handmade. She started off by singing the David Morales Club Remix version of "Libidinous Dream". "This is the beginining of something great, new and unexpected...." Mariah says as the beat to the remix kicks in. Dancers came flourishing out from nowhere as the chorus kicks in with Mariah also participating in it. They did an improvised version of "The Hustle" with a modern twist which made the audience go wild and started screaming for joy. As the last chorus came, choir members could be seen walking out clapping their hands to backup Mariah in the last chorus of this David Morales remix of "Libidinous Dream". She did her whistle runs and danced at the same time as the performance came to an explosive end with fireworks exploding out from the side of the stage. "Buy "Libidinous Dream" and "The Stygian Chevalier" on iTunes now !!!!!", Mariah said. "Look in to your heart and soul, you will find a hero deep within you. Stay strong ya'll", Mariah said as the intro of "Hero" kicks in. The instrumentals were changed a little to make it "modernized" as she sang her heart out for this performance. She ran around the stage and had some interaction with the audience in between the performance. The backing choir members helped her to sing the last chorus as she belted out with hope as the performance comes to an end.
The Vh1 performance received huge positive reception from the media, critics and the public who praised her choice of clothes and also her powerhouse vocals. "The dance remix performance was so great !!! And the "Hero" performance still makes me emotional even after all these year", said an audience who attended the Vh1 Save The Music Performance. The performance that night helped "Libidinous Dream" and "The Stygian Chevalier" on the iTunes charts by giving it longevity.
