Depends on what you use to upload. A lot of sites have a limit to how big the image can be, and when you go over that limit, they automatically reduce the quality down to whatever the limit is.
^ I just checked his countdown and he uses Photobucket.
I think the reason why his caps are coming out blurry is because he saves them in .JPG format. JPG compresses the file too much, and therefore it reduces the quality. At least that is what i think .
Try saving them as .PNG or .BMP files. That is what I do :]
