There'd be 8 unheard tracks if this plan happens. With Reflection, there were only 7 unheard tracks by the time it came out. So we'd actually have MORE new material despite the album being shorter

I guess that's true, but I would love a 16 track album
I think they should just completely wait before releasing anything new and ride the **** out of WFH. They should drop TMG exactly one week before the album's release, then release the video the next week. By then WFH would've peaked and TMG would really start taking off very nicely and could shape-up to be a SOTS contender. i wouldn't want any new tracks just so the GP doesn't get confused, and of course to leave more of the material a mystery!
BTW, at this point I doubt there will be many pre-order tracks. Like, I could understand if the only one left was "That's My Girl".
At the same time, I think they might NOT release it as a countdown single, especially in the UK, cause it wouldn't chart till album release there. Not that it's a problem anyways, since it wouldn't be its peak position, but still

Idk thats a good question though! They do have a massive single leading into the release... which can't necessarily be said for Ariana, right now.
tbh, i stan ariana but this era is stale and there is no excitement for the DW era thus far unless she releases a hit before it drops. 5H has the momentum, especially if they can do some more promo.

Anyways, I'm very confident that DW will have a bigger first week than 7/27. The only time 7/27 was higher on the pre-order chart was right after The Life came out. DW is MUCH higher right now (#12 vs. #35 ) Although I guess if TMG gets a huge positive reaction, it could change things last minute.
I don't think TMG is going to be a promo track, I think it's going to be an actual next single that they'll save until they can give it a real push....it deserves it, at least.
