The Only ones from this generation who have a shot is Beyonce, Radiohead, Coldplay, Jay Z and the White Stripes. Pink? You've got to be kidding me.
What makes Beyonce more qualified than Pink...they both can sing pretty good, they both are great performers, they both supposedly have a hand in writing and producing some of their work, and they both have critical acclaim and concert/sales success. The only difference is one has more Grammys.....
People really underestimate Pink, she has alot of respect in the industry.
20. Marvin Gaye The KING of Soul, should be higher.
19. U2
18. Pink Floyd
17. Queen Freddie Mercury is my musical deity, along with MJ.
16. Madonna Glad they moved her up for #84 or wherever she was on that last list. She could still stand to be a few spots higher (certainly higher than Nirvana, come on son)
15. The Beach Boys I ain't here for these dudes man.
14. Nirvana
13. The Who
12. David Bowie
11. Bob Marley
10. Stevie Wonder
9. James Brown
8. Elvis Presley Glad he's not in the top 5 lol.
7. Prince I was wondering where he'd end up. I was afraid they'd shut him out of the top 10.
6. Jimi Hendrix
The top five (in alphabetical order):
The Beatles
Bob Dylan Michael Jackson YAAAAASSSS my musical Jesus, but I knew he would be high. He was #40 on the original list, blasphemy.
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
-
I'm guessing the top five will be:
1. The Beatles
2. Michael Jackson
3. Bob Dylan
4. Rolling Stones
5. Led Zeppelin
Not enough women. Surprised by the absence of Aretha in the top 20. She pretty much influenced every female soul singer that came after her. She better be #21.

Beyonce is more respected, they even included her name in the press release.
Lmao I can't believe that you people are still holding out hope for more than 10-15 female artists/female fronted-bands appearing. Um, hello? There is only ONE female in the top twenty. ONE. All this arguing about Bee/Britney/Pink/CELINE (lmao!) is, well pointless.
And I can't believe all the shade the Beach Boys are getting! Shameful/
BMU - Tangled Up in Blue is better than 95% of Jacko'c catalogue. FACTY.
BTW - His 2006 release, Modern Times, came in at #2 on the 2006 Pazz & Jop Poll (the biggest, most respected list in American music.) I must've missed anyone making time for Invincible. BUT THIS IS HEADING TOWARDS SYG TERRITORY SO ...

He was #1 on that list not #2 but I thought that album was lame anyways. His best **** was in the late 60s
I cant believe people are actually saying Britney Spears. This is an artists lists, not a performers list...which also makes me question beyonce as well, how many songs did she write alone?
I was going to flip if Prince wasn't on this list in the top 15 at least. They showed "Purple Rain" so many times these past weeks and if he wasn't there I would raise hell.

Out of the younger generation, I can see Britney, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Pink making the list.
With Christina getting placed higher than the rest of them, she is the only one who made Rolling Stone's 50 Greatest Voices list, and as someone said before Christina has made it onto alot of VH1 lists in the past.
Just my opinion, but really all I care about is Celine Dion and how high she will make it haha.
Hmmm I think Usher has a better chance of making it than JT wish both could make it though but JT has only put out 2 albums this era and to me that is a dissapointment and if you disagree with this I'm sorry but you are pretty much retarded lol not just you anybody lol
Pink; I don't think so
Beyonce: They already spilled the tea
Christina: maybe for her vocals, and what she used to be
Britney: I'm reserving my words
If Lady gaga or Rihanna or Usher are there
2pac, The Fugees, Run DMC will be there
not sure about Nas or Jay-Z or Eminem
Don't you ever mention Rihanna and Lady Gaga in the same sentence with Usher again. Rihanna and Lady Gaga are more recent artists but Usher has been around for yeeeeears
