I love this song, but to me, this era has been low-key messy.
Shake It Off and Blank Space was a perfect 1-2 punch, but everything with Style was a mess. From the video to the no promo. IMO the singles should have gone as follows

Mess. The only thing I agree with is that OOTW should've never seen the light of day and they should've made New Romantics the 6th and final single.

Girl dual releases NEVER work. especially if they are both pop tracks

The only real big problems were these three:

1. Style getting a lame, cheap and uninspired MV.
2. Taylor dropping promo/performances by the end of Blank Space.
3. Releasing Out of the Woods as a single when its already done its thing as a promo track.
(although releasing it might have helped her chances of getting the AOY award at the Grammys since it's such a critically acclaimed track.)

what? the era was perfect actually. OOTW did what it needed and got her the Grammy, plus it stopped all the "her music is so immature" chatter that she gets when she releases back-to-back bubblegum. NR might do well but just like BB the song itself is horrendous.
