Yes, Meghan Trainor is releasing her album a week before. Her album pre-order has not left the top 30 for the past three months.
I believe they can shift upwards of 75k, especially with two hit singles and if they get the promotion right on the weeks leading up to the release....they're the golden Girl Group right now.
Bo$$ was a semi-hit charting at #43. Sledgehammer is on its way to being one, and is already showing potential that it'll outpeak any song that was released by 5H.
Now if these girls can actually MOBILIZE their social media following to actually BUYING their debut album then that would be awesome. BO$$ debuted at #43 on the power of their own fan base along so they're off to a great start this year.
I'm expecting around 65k tbh. Ne-Yo (my flop fave ) is also releasing that week, but he's doing ~30k so I'm not worried about my Queen$ getting a top 3 debut

Both of those songs actually sample an earlier R&B song from the early 90's I believe? The beat has been used in lots of other songs, probably most famously in the Blackstreet song "Don't Leave Me"

ot: One of the reasons I think they pushed back the album date (besides adding more pop oriented songs) was to get a #1 and with Meghan and Taylor slaying like there's no tomorrow (like someone already pointed out) i dont think they will get it, althought I really want consisten sales rather than a cute peak.

Their worst song to date. What in the hell were they thinking by including this on the album? As for commercial success- I'm really hoping for a Top Three debut with at least 75k hopefully. That would be amazing! I'm really curious as to how deep they're gonna go into Pop and Urban and make the two tie together. The fact that "BO$$" is followed up right away with "Sledgehammer" is still pretty mind-blogging to me, in a good way. I hope "Over" / "We Know" / another track ends up being a complete piano-driven ballad. I seriously can't wait for the album.
