This was the song that made me a Taylor fan. I think it was the chorus that really got me. It was everything that Picture to Burn could never be. Also, it showed an edgy side of Taylor that she has unfortunately not since repeated in her singles. I just hope that Taylor’s America’s sweetheart image (which wasn’t really in your face during her first album) doesn’t stop her from releasing more songs like this. Better Than Revenge was like the older, better looking sister of this song and it deserved to be a single.

I can’t think of any current singers who could pull of this song like Miranda did. What I loved about her is that unlike Taylor and Carrie, she’s not concerned with keeping a good girl image. She holds nothing back and doesn’t care if people are going to think she’s a total bitch. The production of the song is a total bore and there is almost no momentum built up in the chorus. In the end though, all of the song’s flaws are covered up perfectly by Miranda’s voice and attitude.

I’ll never get the love for this song. The chorus is nice but everything else about the song just comes off as plain. For me, it lacks the energy and interest that I’ve come to expect in Taylor’s songs. I still don’t know why this song was chosen as the single over Change, Forever and Always or even The Best Day. Also, why are so many of Taylor’s music videos tour clips and performances. I mean, this, Should’ve Said No and Sparks Fly? Really?

Three of my tens gone in one update, thank god I’m easily impressed and have so many. I think being in college right now is what makes me love this song so much. It’s just a really sweet and simple song. Carrie’s label really makes me laugh though. I still want to know why in the hell this song and Some Hearts were released before Before He Cheats. Same thing with why So Small was the first single off of Carnival Ride//released at all//allowed to exist. Do they just throw all the songs off the album into a hat and randomly pick one out and bam, that’s the single?
