I've never said it was bad. But you stans and some people in general are doing the absolute MOST when you say that it's the best SB NA performance of all time. Kelly is good. She really is. But she is nowhere up where Beyoncé, Whitney, and Mariah are.
And, ugh, let's not with the live thing. As if Beyoncé, Whitney, or any of those other girls would have delivered a horrible vocal performance live. We have countless of impromptu acapellas to prove that they are ALL capable. Everyone knows that its just common standard to lip at the Super Bowl when singing the NA, just like its common standard to lip at those holiday Day Parades. I'm not going to give Kelly any extra props, just because she decided to be a risk taker.
It wasn't the best SB Anthem of all time.
Kelly is better than good. She's amazing. And she is up there with Beyonce.
No. The difference is that when you lip or pre-record your vocals, you have the chance to sing it how you want or re-record it as much as you want. Look at J-Hud's SB performance. It's amazing because she lipped it. She WOULD NOT have been able to do that live. That factors into this discussion heavily because Kelly could've truly went all out if she lipped it but she chose not to. She chose to give an understated performance. Some people prefer that over someone going all out, and some people do not. It doesn't change the fact that it was a brilliant performance and that Kelly is an amazing vocalist.

And here we go again. Let me just keep this short and say that Kelly can't do it.

Like I said, Kelly's not getting any extra props just because she decided to take a risk, especially after she saw how that risk paid off for Ms. Aguilera the previous year too.
