MY SCORES AND CRITIQUES
Shendelzare - 5/10 - I think you could have played around with depth some more, perhaps have the
Photoshop text bigger and extend beyond the circle, and then alter the distance and size values in the drop shadow effect. But I love all the textures and colours you used.
prézli - 5.5/10 - Simple and nice. One thing that could have enhanced this banner was to animate the text (hosted by prezli, the arrow, etc) to make it look like it is being handwritten.
MasterXPosed - 5/10 - It’s not bad, but could have been better – it needs more colour. Or perhaps have a collage of artists/celebs as the background, and then have the text stand out more and be the focus.
BYoncé - 7/10 - I like the
slight retro vibe. Only thing I would change is some of the text positioning, for instance your username is too close to the
P, in my opinion.
Dom - 7.5/10 - I love the textures and the vibrant colours. Also, wonderful font choice.
URBAN - 6/10 - I know this is supposed to be hosted by ourselves, but that doesn’t mean you
have put an image of yourself on the banner, Urban
. Apart from that, the colour scheme and fonts work quite well together, and everything is nicely balanced.
Xedretinz Lododnz - 4/10 - It would have been better if the font flowed with the background (Warp Text > Flag option). Also the colour scheme isn’t very exciting.
DevonDreams - 6.5 - I like how it’s different, yet strangely captivating.
Hurem - 5/10 - Simple but a little boring. I think some sort of gold coloured texture in the background would have enhanced the image – also maybe a richer blue for the text.
Marnie - 6/10 - It’s nice, but there’s a few things that could be improved, for instance, the text could be smaller and not so close to the edge, the gif could have looped better (though that would have been hard to do) and also a nice (purple/blue) galaxy type background would have provided a nice contrast to the orange text.
theycallmemaraj - 2/10 - I think you know this is a mess.
Royal Culture - 6/10 - The idea and layout is good, but a darker background would have been better to highlight the nice colours. Also the light/glow effect should be dulled down.
ririfan21 - 6.5/10 - I like the use of the Atrl and Photoshop logo, but the background images look skewed to me. Also I think some of the text could have been altered, for example, making your username larger, and then
Hosted by smaller with the outline removed. Also the shadow under the banner giving it some depth was a nice touch.
Cantaloupe. - 8/10 - Love the appealing colour scheme and font choices, and the retro vibe, it all works well together.
Desire - 4/10 - Very basic, a more realistic approach would have provided some depth and textural interest. Also the font choice isn’t the best, there are far better chalk-like fonts out there. But I like how you attempted to animate it.
Dancehall - 7/10 - I kinda love this, but that blue colour is
. Also I know the horse is dead, but I think it would have been really cute if some elements were animated (the googly eyes, hair swaying, ears twitching, etc).
Satan - 7.5/10 - Nice colours as always.
Lawliet - 6.5/10 - I like the idea, though this would have been so cool if the strobe lights were animated and flashing everywhere. Also I don’t fully understand the shape of the middle part, it would have been better if the text was larger and between the lights. The richness of the pink is lovely.
Kingie - 7/10 - Love this! But a few changes would have been good. The beach ball should be animated better, or perhaps have it flying back and forth across and out of the bottom right corner so it looks like people are bouncing the ball to each other – or have it not animated at all, enlarge it and put a slight directional blur on it so it feels like it’s moving. Also that image on
The Photoshop Game is a little jarring, a subtle salmon coloured image would have been better.
MY TOP 3
1. Cantaloupe.
2. Dom
3. Satan

Will post my PSD file sometime later for anyone who wants to see what I did.
Though it'll only work with CS6 extended and it should work with newer versions of Photoshop
