We can talk about whether or not the UK, "uses". MESS.

Mariah sold millions of albums in the UK in 2005/8? That's really surprising that she isn't really massive here then.
Where the **** have I tried to be smart? Please realise that not everyone on here is trying to be funny or shady. I'm just trying to have a conversation about how big these females are in countries around the world, OK, I underestimated how big Mariah was in the UK, thank you for correcting me. Now, get the **** over it.
What the hell are you on about Hero for? Well done, someone covered Hero on The X Factor, so?
Pretty much everyone who has a hit song has been covered on The X Factor, it doesn't mean very much beyond 'They feel like they can sing the song well enough to get through to the next round'. Oh, you mean everyone singing along? That was more to do with the fact they felt sorry for him than them all feeling a sudden urge to break out in song in harmony...
Have Katy Perry fans got a reputation of attacking Mariah or something? 'Cause if they haven't you have seriously overreacted to what I said, and if they have I apologise for that and am letting you know now I was not taking part in that.
EDIT: OH! The X Factor 2008 song was Hero, wasn't it? ah, makes sense. Meh, wouldn't consider that one of the biggest recent songs, but whatever floats your boat.
