1. The person who enquired asked which markets were more viable for a POP concert. In this regard, Nigeria has faded into the background since it has become a more R&B/Rap dominated market. Check the Nigerian iTunes charts sis. Urban artists dominate over pop artists like Lily Allen, P!nk etc.
2. Nowhere in his question did he ask about Nigerian music. Nigerian music is big in Africa yes, but the question was about which markets are tour-ready for international artists I would suppose.
3. South Africa is the biggest music market in Africa. I don't know what you make of that, but the IFPI receipts from this year shows that SA is still the continent's leader in music. Google it.

Thank God you acknowledged that he never mentioned Nigeria ,so I wonder why you had to bring Nigeria into this.
Secondly the Nigerian market has always been dominated by black artists,so I wonder where the issue of fading arose in the first place.
Thirdly the music market has gone beyond record sales,if SA was the biggest music market, why is it that Artist all over Africa including those from SA struggle to break into our markets? The answer is simple,Nigeria is where the money is, In Nigeria like most parts of the world, Artist don't make money from record sales, but most of their money comes from concerts and brand endorsement. As I have pointed out earlier when an artist does a concert in Nigeria he gets paid upfront,so he doesn't have to rely on ticket sales.
