Not really. Darien wasn't wearing a tuxedo when he first meet Usagi in the old one. And the tuxedo, is the same as he wear as tuxedo mask, so it's really noticeable. Also, the original was more "violent" because the villein in the old one, 1, look more scary and 2, takes Molly (Idk how she's called in english) by the neck. This one looks like it's made for kids, not for fans.
So for all this new looks, the music selection, the villains, the characters; the whole thing is:
I still love to see new stuff of Sailor Moon, but with this first episode, I'm very disappointed.
