He's supporting someone (Phil Robertson/Duck Dynasty) who initially said that he did not support gay marriage. Which would be perfectly fine. But then he kept talking and said that gay marriage would only cause bestiality and people "sleeping around" (a direct quote) and that none of them would be saved.

And then he went on to say that black people enjoyed Jim Crow laws/segregation.

So I guess you could say he's supporting someone who is homophobic and racist. But yeah.

An "ideal" family could be a nuclear family with a heterosexual marriage & 2.5 children with a white picket fence & golden retriever, but this is not the same as "family values". If you had the idea that mixed-race/same-sex relationships can't exist in a functional family unit, you might be considered to have bigoted/racist/homophobic views... but from what you're saying it doesn't sound to me like that's what you mean, so no. It's not wrong to think what you think.

You can have your opinion. I never called you that. But that ideal doesn't speak for everyone, and when the phrase "traditional family values" is used, there's always an underlying and offensive message to the LGBT community, by making us feel inferior and stating that our way of living is wrong.

My thing is, why does traditional family values have to be man and woman? Why aren't LGBT included? Why can't traditional family values be having TWO great parents, regardless of gender/sexuality, and a positive family instead?

I accept that everyone has their own beliefs and opinions for whatever reason and are entitled to them. Sometimes people are bought up to think certain ways and I can understand why people might have certain views.
However, when you are in a position of power or attention and say something like this it has an effect on many people especially considering that 1D has devoted fans who may think and adopt said beliefs he has.
