It doesn't sound good at all.
But the January release looks as bad tbh. There is no guarantee that she will get a US hit, while she already has two hits under her belt in various countries. What if the single after Hotter than Hell would not catch on? What if the single in the US is a slow burner, that basically pushes the album even further, just to secure a hit there? The moment her team on Warner decided to pushback the album to January, the era derailed basically.
Also what if she underperforms and the US attempt doesn't works and her label wants to change the album? Atleast this German release secures that we hear the album how it is meant to be. I mean I am not happy with how the things are going. Dua deserves better. But this US attempt is really killing everything. I would be fine with a little pushback to November to secure an other UK hit and actually try to estamblish herself as a force with longtivity in EU, UK, AUS and other countries, rather than putting everything at risk for a market that might not even want her.
