now that we're talking about it, i really dont get why HBO and Showtime dont produce more original content.
Showtime will air a final season of House of Lies and Episodes this year(dice is just a terrible show) and has no comedies in production. It does no miniseries. None of their dramas has a big pop culture presence (homeland is there but its old now).

Billions 1.05 mil average, about 67% retention. The finale without Shameless as a lead-in got just above a million viewers.

Game of Thrones 7.64 mil average (so far)
True Detective 2.61 mil average
Silicon Valley 1.77 mil average with the direct GoT lead-in, about 23% retention (so far).
Ballers 1.70 mil average, about 65% retention. Even when it lost the TD lead-in, it got about a million and a half viewers.

HBO at least does some limited series and TV movies in a TV cycle but Showtime is the pits I think HBO could save them with Westworld and The Deuce but I guess they'll be delayed now? Showtime must be too happy with Shameless and Homeland to act this lazy. I can't think of another reason.

But yeah, Netflix and FX are better than them Original Programming-wise.

Limitless is one of the good shows that got cancelled too soon I feel bad for the lead actor, he was so good in the show..

None of their fall/winter shows averaged a million viewers, so it's time for an overhaul.
I'm assuming Divorce will get the direct Westworld lead-in, with its cast including Sarah Jessica Parker who gave them their last big comedy hit plus Emmy winner/Oscar nominee Thomas Haden Church and Tony winner Tracy Letts.

Praise Jesus, Westworld is happening. It will slay everything and everyone. I hope both Westworld and Divorce are released in time for Globes tho.
