News agencies are referring to hurricane Sandy as a “Frankenstorm”, due to collide with a cold front and low pressure trough from Washington DC to New York and Boston in what is being called a potential “Storm of the Century”.
It's being called a monster that will ravage the North East U.S. Warnings are going out already about massive power outages. It's being billed as a rare mix of three big merging weather systems over a densly poplulate region.. with at least 1 billion dollars in damage..
But why call it a Frankenstorm?
Frankenstein, a story by Mary Shelly, was a creation of man, made in the likeness of his creator, that destroyed its creator.
Are we being forewarned here? Is this going to be another Joplin Missouri type storm? Kind of scary when you consider there are patents issued for manipulating the weather:
