That's where I am at as well. Seems we're in the same boat.
I didn't see the issue here because I didn't know the frustration behind it.
I guess my head is sometimes stuck in my own view where everyone is equal already to begin with (I know that sounds tacky), which makes me oblivious to some frustrations some people can have. I know, priviledge and **** like that.
Still, I do believe that doing this to an 11 year old is going way too far, but I understand where it's coming from now. I still think these type of things often get taken way too far though. But I'm too detached from these type of debates, it seems.
