Actually they don't tell ANYTHING. An album can sell 20k first week and can become HUGE.

I guess I just want 4 to debut HUGE, but it'll sell well anyway so we shouldn't care that much

That's actually very true. I myself put a huge emphasis on the first week but it isn't really important at all. I mean, The Fame debuted with 24k and it went on to be certified 4x Platinum.
