Did I lie? She bout to release her FOURTH urban single after all 3 have failed to chart. She knows the fans want her to release overdose but she insists on going the Nivea/Tweet/Ashanti route. She doesn't want to become a superstar, she wants to remain a local r&b chanteuse. I have accepted it and I now look to queen Cassie for an epic 2012 comeback story.

Just heard Overdose snippet for the first time and I am absolutely blown away. What is her label trying? Oh my god.

Overdose should've been the debut with Got Me Good to follow. GMG would have traction from Overdose to get her back in the spotlight.

That's not true, her handlers know she has to get established at urban 1st b4 pop will even touch her.
Why do you think chris/usher drop their urban material 1st? It's to build up the release, which is why they are trying to score an urban hit. From my close friends who have heard the material, it sounds like the pop material is grade A & we have nothing to worry about. the problem is getting the fickle ass black community to support her again.

What she needs, is a radio deal. Cause other than that I don't see it for her. She's not a selling artist anymore. It's not like Ciara can drop a song and people will buy enough for it to chart. She needs radio, and unfortunately radio is black labeling her. But with a radio deal, it can push the song and eventually like every radio hit the song will start selling like hot cakes.

The only way to really make sure she does well on radio is to release a smash pop song.

THAT'S RIGHT! I agree except with Got Me Good being the follow up. She could of then released an urban single with a feature like "Boy Outta Here, that's if BOH sounds good, cause I haven't heard it.

And this is what a general audience would think when they hear the song. "oooh this sounds good". People don't want something like "I'm super turn up blah blah" "Sweat", especially coming from Ciara. That's washed up.

Overdose is something that will shock people, because it is a pop bop from Ciara, and it actually works for her.
