But people were here for This Is How We Do so that kinda makes your point moot.

I'd totally agree with you if GP decided what radio played, but they don't. C'Mon is one of my favourite songs on Warrior but I admit that it kinda flopped and wasn't a hit with the GP. TIHWD was a GP favourite and that is kinda undeniable looking at the stats.
People want fun Katy but there is a way to be fun without being totally bubblegum pop and deliberately marketing herself to children. Roar was the most childish single of the era, but it also had that underlying Fight Song-y middle aged single mom "My new life starts TODAY" shtick going for it too, Birthday would be the second most kid-y single for obvious reasons and TIHWD would be third.
Unconditionally was one of her most serious and mature singles to date and it underperformed, but I still think that was largely due to being lost in the mix with Roar, Dark Horse and WOA.
