I love that they used the boys' voices in a lot of different ways on this album. Whether it's in the lush harmonies, or individual boys leading the choruses for a change, or who gets what solos, etc.

One of my favorite things about Girl Almighty is that even though it's just the same verse + chorus over and over, they keep switching who has what what parts. It gives it a really fun dynamic and I'm glad all the boys are finally shining in different ways that work for them

Yes, the harmonies are top notch! I dislike the vocal mixing overall though. On MM I could always tell who was singing, but on most of these tracks it's harder for me. I struggle distinguishing between Liam and Harry

Agreed about Girl Almighty! They should do more songs like that, it works well in Half A Heart too. I just think it's nice that someone other than Harry has the chorus. Louis has No Control, Zayn has Does He Know, are there any others?

Hmmm I can get on board with that for SML, it took me awhile to figure out who was singing what (besides Louis and Legend N of course ). Will have to decide about the rest of the album later.

I can't think off the top of my head, but I swear I remember thinking someone lead a chorus while I was listening today and I was like "oh!" when I realized what a pleasant surprise it was. idk if I'm making sense. Again I will have to listen more and see what I discover Maybe sit down and map out who sings what in each song

What if they each released an EP with a few solo songs? Or did a compilation of solo songs from each of them? I'd be here for that tbh I just feel like they're definitely hinting at something different for the next album... (the fact that Four isn't even released yet and they're already having meetings about the next album )

It sounds to me like Zayn's co-written tracks didn't fit the Four sound, but they still wanna use them for something...

The thing here is Penny:

1. Harry along with Liam and Zayn easily have the better voices in terms of power, technique and range (correlated to each one). Which means they had up til FOUR dominated the solos primarily with some exceptions on each album.

2. The fact is that allowing everyone equal shots at solos gives the music much more maturity. And it also shows how the other members contributes to the music. Louis for example adds emotional depths in his verses while Niall adds energy. Which is why their harmonizing has such an immense improvement with these in mind. This is not even touching the fact that their writing has improved along with how much they actually are involved in the process too.

Harry is great in his solos though. Just don't take it to heart when everyone can actually compliment the others for having their own spotlight.

Lol I'm talking about the video I posted which Zayn did end up dancing in to and was bad but still better than niall so Idk why only zayn has the rep
