19 Entertainment looks like they have another winner on their hands with American Idol champ Phillip Phillips, who just released the video to his gold single, “Home,” the song he sung on the show’s finale and is approaching 850k in cumulative sales. The Season 11 topper saw his single go to #1 at iTunes after it was featured as the soundtrack for the 2012 U.S. Olympics Women’s Gymnastics team as they made their London debut, which should mean 200k in sales this week alone.

Home was the top selling track on iTunes last week. I thought Whistle was going to edge it a bit because it topped it during the weekend but it seems not.

I don't know if the vid is already out, but it's getting a broadcast premiere during So You Think You Can Dance.
Obviously the Olympics promo helped but I remember it having longer than usual longevity after the initial release. People just love it, I suppose.
