btw it's funny how she managed to get this so close to top10 without any promo... and back in 2010 she did that remix with Bieber, new video, performances, bla blah ...
Nnnn I'm kinda pressed about Michael Buble's Christmas album and I never get bothered like that over anyone Maybe because I find him so bland? (Sorry Abel)

Does anyone know if Mariah was given writing credits for Bryson Tiller's "Don't"? It uses lyrics from Shake It Off and is currently #20 on Billboard Hot 100. I'm not quite sure how interpolations work. If she is credited, that would mean she reached top 20 twice this year as a songwriter.
In case you guys think you can't influence anything. Check this out:

Among action outside the Hot 100's top 10, Mariah Carey's 1994 classic "All I Want for Christmas Is You" reaches a new high, jingling 18-11; Drake and Future's "Jumpman" rises 13-12, returning to its peak; twenty one pilots' "Stressed Out" flies 19-13 and takes over atop Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart; Bryson Tiller's "Don't" ascends 20-18 - giving Carey two writing credits in the top 20 (along with "Christmas"), as the song samples her 2005 hit "Shake It Off"; and The Chainsmokers' "Roses," featuring ROZES, blooms 26-20, marking the duo's second top 20 Hot 100 hit, following "#SELFIE," which reached No. 16 in April 2014.

Thank god you've bumped this. I meant to ask about it. It took me so long to figure out what the sample exactly was (a mess). I've heard the song a few times and I never noticed. I'm surprised people are even talking about it, as he only used two lines. Queen of songwriting indeed tbh!
First of all, forgive me for how poorly written this is.
This is only open to lambs. If you took part in the Discog Rate or the Elusive Angel rate or have posted in this base regularly, then you're good.
This is an idea I've been toying with for several months. After the mediocre success of the in-base Elusive Angel rate, I decided I wanted to do something more. Sadly no one won the prediction game for that so this is a way to make up for that.
With 2015 being Mariah's 25th anniversary in the industry, I figured what better way to celebrate than holding a small contest for ATRL lambs. The year is almost over so this will go into 2016 but it's a nice thing to do before the annual lambily awards, if/when that happens.
I've been collecting Mariah's music for years. Over the years I seem to have cumulated copies of singles etc. This is a great way for me to free up space on my shelf as well as bringing joy to another lambs life. There will be prizes to be won:
1st place – a Mariah Carey (debut) or Emotions LP + a surprise
2nd place - a 12" single (you will be given a choice between the singles available) + a surprise
3rd place - a 7"single (you will be given a choice between the singles available) + a surprise
This Lambfest will have 3 components. Each component is worth a certain amount of points. The highest scorer out will determine the winner (obviously).
Component 1 – The Songbird Supreme Challenge
Worth: 50 out of 100.
This component is similar to a competition Pecinta organised earlier this year. It will be worth half of the overall points you will fight for.
As we all know, Mariah is not just a singer but also a writer, having written every single song of hers that she has ever sung minus the covers. You are required to write a short song or poem in the style of our idol, Mariah. I don’t want to stunt your creativity so there are no limitations. Just don’t go writing a dissertation, please dahhlings.
Component 2 – The “Often Imitated, Never Duplicated” Challenge
Worth 25 out of 100.
Remember my infamous version of “on the back cover…”? For this challenge you are required to pick your favourite Mariah Carey speech/moment and try your best impression of it. Record it and upload it somewhere for us to hear (Soundcloud, Vocaroo etc). I’d say the longer the better. It’d be a little hard to judge a 6 second clip, for example. Please state what moment you're "covering" when sending entries.
I would suggest saving it on your phone or laptop in case vocaroo deletes it before I'm back to hear them. This will make it easier to re-send it, if need be.
Component 3 – Me…I Am Lambriah: The Elusive Fanteuse Challenge
Worth 25 out of 100.
This is simple. I want to know about you and your love for Mariah. Why do you like her? What made you a fan? Stuff like that. Talk to us about your journey as a lamb. Once again, I don’t want to impose restrictions but anything above 750 words would be a little too much but that doesn't mean you have to write 750 words exactly.
I really hope this is a success. I’m going away Sunday 13th Dec and I may or may not have the Internet – I just don’t know yet. I'm back on the 3rd (Jan 2016) I will give you up to over a month for this...5 weeks to be exact. I think that's plenty of time.
Deadline: 15th Jan.
Email your entries to the special email I opened just for this because I’m not a contributor so I have a small inbox which is nearly full. Email: [email protected]
I haven't selected any judges for this. If you want to judge then just send me a PM. I know some of you expressed interest but maybe you'd want to participate instead. Just PM me
I want to bump this and to also inform you that after the results of this, I'm taking a hiatus from this board to live my life a little.
