I think if there's an underperformance it will come from it's longevity tbh. She'll likely pull in big opening numbers from the 21 hype alone, but it'll be the material and the singles that determine how much it sells in the long run.
I'm not really expecting much singles success (though I imagine she knows the importance of singles). Technically none of the songs from 21 (aside from SFTTR) sounded like smash hits at the time so I doubt she'll aim for mainstream singles this time around as well.
Then again, she's very aware of everything so maybe she knows she has to have strong singles, especially since the bar has been raised, this time around, for her.

Yeah but Adele has now proven that you don't need some more popish songs like SFFTR to smash. If she has a legit good quality song then it very well has the potential to become a single. I mean this BAD BITCH smashed with Someone Like You like whatttt . Also RITD is my jam of all time I love that song so much She doesn't even need to think about making a song a 'single really because radio will enjoy it either ways as long as its not a James Bond Soundtrack single

I can't picture Adele having a Gnarls Barkley's "Going On"-type first single.

LMFAO! I am so thirsty it's not even funny.... But hey, I once Tweeted to Gaga like, 20 times and she finally responded. Maybe it'll work with Adele one day! But really, though, my mom is concerned for my mental health because I'm so desperate for new music. Adele better release some new stuff before I start to go insane! The Twitter meltdowns are just a small sample of the thirstiness I deal with EVERY DAY.

Yes, it is a shame Amy died. Her song "Back to Black" slays me so much. FLAWLESS. An Amy and Adele collaboration would've worked well. There are a few artists out there that Adele could collaborate with and sound amazing with. P!nk, Emeli Sandé, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Alicia Keys, just to name a few. It'd be cool if she did a song with OneRepublic like Leona did, though. When Leona collaborated with Ryan Tedder, OneRepublic appeared on her song "Lost Then Found" and it was one of her best songs. If Adele and OneRepublic could pull off a song like that I would die. There are plenty of artists Adele could work with. I still don't understand why she chose Wiz Khalifa, though....

We'll see but a Wiz collab isn't a bad thing. Adele doesn't need any collabs on her album and hopefully she hasn't done any. But anyways I think it will be very interesting to see a Wiz collab. I'm not even going to get worked up about collabs though because I feel a lot of them are not super good. I never like this featured stuff

Maybe the collaboration with this rapper is part of the illuminati blood sacrifice she made.

Yeah, the few collaborations she has done were amazing, though. The Jack Peñate ones where she provided backing vocals were a little weird, but "Water and a Flame" was amazing. When she covered "Need You Now" with Darius Rucker, that was amazing. She's done plenty of great collaborations. And now that she is so huge, there's going to be a HUGE demand for collaborations from other artists now. Everyone wants to work with her... Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Slash, Tinie Tempah, just... Every artist in the world, pretty much, wants to work with her. I'd be fine with one or two collaborations on the new album, but she better choose wisely. I don't think she'd put someone on the album that wasn't good enough, though. There are only a few voices that could really live up to working with a legend like her, though. P!nk, JT, Emeli Sandé, someone like that.

Yes, it is. I will make her spill the tea. Bitch better not make us wait for all of 2014 for some new music.

LMFAO! It's always funny to watch those videos on YouTube that play songs backwards and claim they prove the songs' respective artists are in the Illuminati. Most of the time the lyrics they think are being said backwards don't even sound like what they think it does. I saw one for "Skyfall" and it was creepy, but hilarious.

^^ Speaking of which.... Has Adele ever confirmed her religion? Not that I care, I was just curious. She's mentioned God before and due to her strong opposition of the sexualized music industry and her roots, it is suspected that she is Christian. She's been seen wearing crosses before at some of her concerts, supposedly, too. I think she's Christian, but she's never really discussed her religion. Does anyone know? I was just curious.

We'll see, I don't see her doing a collab on her album though, she'll probably just do what she has done thus far by appearing on other people's albums

idk but i think that might be it. Though you can sort of tell she's not really into it . Its like having a religion for the sake of having one or just because everyone around you does kind of thing i think she probably has. Also there are quite some religious references in the best Gospel song of all time -RITD
